The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, New York (SACCNY) enables bilateral exchanges between Sweden and the U.S.

SACCNY, founded in 1906, has over a century of experience dedicated to helping Swedish companies expand internationally. Our mission is to support Swedish industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators in establishing a strong presence in the U.S. market.

SACCNY organizes and hosts a range of prestigious programs, including acceleration initiatives, high-level forums, and signature events such as Skyline, Innovate Nordics, the Executive Insight Series, and the Executive Women’s Conference, among others. In 2025, SACCNY will launch the Nordic Hub, a soft-landing platform situated in the heart of Manhattan, offering an exclusive environment for business growth and collaboration.

Through our VISA sponsor, SACCNY provides J-1 visas to participants of our internship program, enabling them to gain valuable international experience and embark on careers as global business professionals.

Availability

Applicants must commit to the entire internship period of one year.

Education

Actively pursuing or have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree (BSc or MSc), specializing in finance, marketing, or another equivalent field of education.

3.

Language

Fluent in both English and Swedish, with proven strength in both written and verbal communication across professional contexts.

4.

Nationality

Swedish citizen or hold strong personal and professional ties to Sweden, ensuring eligibility for the relevant visa requirements.

Scholarship Business Services Intern

As a scholarship recipient, you will gain hands-on experience in the U.S. business landscape. Throughout the year with us, you will play a key role in a range of impactful initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass planning and executing high-profile events and delegations, cultivating strategic partnerships, and contributing to the development of growth-driven projects. You will also be actively involved in member activities, offering tailored consultancy services, and driving the success of acceleration programs designed to scale businesses and promote cross-border collaboration. 

YOU WILL

Assist in identifying and harnessing synergies between startups, scale-ups, corporate giants, and non-profit entities 

Meticulously plan, organize, and execute summits, events, and seminars promoting Swedish innovation, entrepreneurship and the SACCNY members 

Support the SACCNY members to actualize their strategic establishment/expansion within the U.S.  

Gain unparalleled insights into the intricate landscape of American business and the dynamic exchange between Sweden and the U.S.

Identify and recruit new SACCNY members, and build relationships to expand SACCNY’s network

Communication and Marketing Intern

As a Communications Intern, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in driving our communication efforts while gaining first-hand experience in international business. Throughout your year with us, you will take an active role in a variety of areas, from managing external communication channels to planning and executing high-level events. You will work closely with Swedish and American companies, from established corporations to innovative startups, while supporting strategic partnerships and member engagement.

YOU WILL

Manage SACCNY’s external channels, including social media, website updates, and publications like newsletters and member directories

Create content, handle multimedia, and contribute to press outreach and marketing materials in line with our brand

Assist in identifying and harnessing synergies between startups, scale-ups, corporate giants, and non-profit entities

Meticulously plan, organize, and execute summits, events, and seminars promoting Swedish innovation, entrepreneurship and the SACCNY members

Identify and recruit new SACCNY members, and build relationships to expand SACCNY’s network

YOU ARE

Experienced in producing print and online materials with proficiency in programs
such as Abobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Mailchimp, and Squarespace

Experienced in managing social media accounts such as Instagram and LinkedIn

A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment where no task is too big or too small

An excellent organizer who pays close attention to details, deadlines and can manage projects from start to finish 

Set up to thrive in an international setting and eager to reside and work in the vibrant heart of New York City

REQUIREMENTS

Nationality: Holds Swedish citizenship or other strong ties to Sweden (to qualify for the relevant Visa). 

Language: Fluent in both English and Swedish, with proven strength in both written and verbal communication across professional contexts.

Internship period: August 2025 through August 2026.
