The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, New York (SACCNY) enables bilateral exchanges between Sweden and the U.S.

SACCNY, founded in 1906, has over a century of experience dedicated to helping Swedish companies expand internationally. Our mission is to support Swedish industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators in establishing a strong presence in the U.S. market.

SACCNY organizes and hosts a range of initiatives, including acceleration programs, high-level forums, and signature events such as Skyline, Innovate Nordics, the Executive Insight Series, and the Executive Women’s Conference, among others. Gateway, our Manhattan-based hub, serves as a soft-landing platform, offering an exclusive environment for business growth, collaboration, and entry into the U.S. market.

Through our VISA sponsor, SACCNY provides J-1 visas to participants of our internship program, enabling them to gain valuable international experience and embark on careers as global business professionals.

Swedish citizen or hold strong personal and professional ties to Sweden, ensuring eligibility for the relevant visa requirements.

SACCNY is currently looking for a Business Services Intern and a Marketing & Communications Intern to join our team for a one-year internship during 2026/2027. Read more about the positions and the application below!


Business Services Internship

JOB DESCRIPTION 

SACCNY offers a Business Services Internship from June 2026 through June 2027. This opportunity is designed for recent graduates or students nearing graduation who aspire to make a meaningful impact at the intersection of Swedish and American business. 

This multifaceted role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various areas of international business. As a Business Services Intern, you will support Swedish companies and entrepreneurs in the U.S. market. You will work closely with SACCNY members and Swedish organizations, facilitating internationalization efforts and fostering connections between startups, scale-ups, corporates, and non-profits. You will be involved in planning and executing high-level summits, events, and seminars, and will also support strategic partnerships, member engagement, and different initiatives. 

You will also help execute SACCNY’s marketing and communications, including social media platforms, the website, and materials such as newsletters, member directories, and event invitations. 

We are looking for someone who is proactive, socially confident, and eager to take responsibility. You should have strong problem-solving skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable working independently and in a team. The role requires adaptability, commitment, and an entrepreneurial mindset. If you are looking to gain practical experience, build a transatlantic network, and fully dedicate yourself, this role is for you. Applicants should have completed at least two years of university-level studies in business, economics, or a related field. Strong verbal and written skills in both Swedish and English are required.

Marketing & Communications Internship

JOB DESCRIPTION  

SACCNY offers a Marketing and Communications Internship from June 2026 through June 2027.  

As a Communications Intern at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York, you will play a key role in driving our communication efforts while gaining first-hand experience in international business.  

You will manage SACCNY’s external channels, including social media, website, and publications like newsletters and member directories. You will create content, handle multimedia, and contribute to press outreach and marketing materials in line with our brand. 

Beyond communications, you will be involved in planning and executing high-level events, supporting delegations, and working closely with Swedish and American companies—from established corporations to innovative startups. You will also support strategic partnerships, member engagement, and different initiatives. 

This internship offers a unique opportunity to grow in a dynamic, international setting at the intersection of business and communications. 

We are looking for someone who is proactive, socially confident, and eager to take responsibility. You should have strong problem-solving skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable working independently and in a team. The role requires adaptability, commitment, and an entrepreneurial mindset. YOU ARE: 

  • pursuing, or have completed, an undergraduate or graduate degree (BSc or MSc) in business, specializing in marketing or another relevant field; 

  • experienced in producing print and online materials with proficiency in programs;  
    such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Mailchimp, and WordPress;  

  • experienced in managing social media accounts such as Instagram and LinkedIn; 

  • a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment where no task is too big or too small; 

  • equipped with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swedish; 

  • an excellent organizer who pays close attention to details, deadlines and can manage projects from start to finish; 

  • a strong public speaker with proficient interpersonal and teamwork skills;  

  • experienced in working in an international environment and excited to be living and working in New York City.
