Scale your energy innovation in New York’s built environment
Building on the success of previous Skyline editions, we now welcome a new cohort of innovators shaping the future of cities and energy systems. Earlier participants have secured U.S. partnerships, pilot projects, market-entry pathways, and strategic relationships with property owners, utilities, cities, and investors.
Skyline supports small and medium-sized Swedish companies with scalable solutions for New York’s built environment, urban infrastructure, and building-to-grid energy systems. The program connects real market demand with Swedish technologies at the forefront of the energy transition.
We focus on strategic business opportunities across New York's urban energy systems and the pressing needs of its commercial, institutional, industrial, and multifamily real estate sectors. This includes both cutting-edge new developments and the large-scale retrofit market.
Program Structure
Skyline is a hybrid, market-access program running from June to December 2026, combining structured preparation, market immersion, and bespoke business development. It includes two high-impact delegation visits to New York, the first in conjunction with the high-profile event Climate Week NYC in September and the second in November.
June 2-3, 2026 In-person Kickoff in Stockholm - meet Swedish innovators, hear from NYC experts, and prepare for business development meetings
September 21-23, 2026 First Delegation Visit to New York - Global visibility, stakeholder engagement, and high-level meetings during Climate Week NYC, the most exciting event for climate and energy companies from around the world.
November 3-5, 2026 Second Delegation Visit to New York - Development and deployment focused, deal-driven meetings, site visits, and commercial follow-ups for actual project work.

Why New York?
New York is the world’s 9th-largest economy and with a strong economic growth, record-high employment rates and thriving innovation industries it is consolidating its position as a global leader in the Green Economy.
Both New York State and New York City have adopted ambitious climate policies aimed at increasing energy efficiency and decrease carbon emissions in commercial, institutional, industrial, and/or multifamily buildings, offering excellent business opportunities for Swedish technology providers who can advance these goals.
New York's buildings account for 60% of the state's energy use and 32% of its greenhouse gas emissions. Nearly 80% of the buildings were constructed before energy codes were introduced in the 1970s, meaning they were not initially designed with energy efficiency in mind.
The combination of city and state legislation underscores New York's commitment to a clean and resilient energy future and paves the way as a model for other cities and states to follow in their building decarbonization journey.
Alongside being a global top real estate market New York City is also a hub for urban innovation, facilitating spearheading pilot programs, field demonstration and state of the art property projects. The city is also the second hub for venture capital activity globally after the Bay Area in California and its tech ecosystem has become a gateway for international companies seeking a U.S. foothold.
