The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, New York (SACCNY) enables bilateral exchanges between Sweden and the U.S.

SACCNY stands as a preeminent Swedish Chamber of Commerce globally, carrying a legacy of 118 years dedicated to the internationalization of Swedish companies. Through our VISA sponsor, SACCNY supports the participants of the SACCNY internships with a J-1 visa, making it possible for you to explore the international arena and to embark on your journey as an international business professional.

General requirements

Availability

Applicants must commit to the entire internship period as stated in the job description.

2.

Education

Actively pursuing or have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree (BSc or MSc), specializing in finance, marketing, or another equivalent field of education.

3.

Language

Possess fluency in English and Swedish, complemented by exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

4.

Nationality

Holds Swedish citizenship or other strong ties to Sweden (to qualify for the relevant Visa).

The Elof Hansson Foundation, in collaboration with the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York (SACCNY), is offering a unique opportunity: a one-year internship at SACCNY through the Elof Hansson Foundation Scholarship.

This scholarship is specifically designed for young, creative business talents from the University of Gothenburg who are eager to deepen their knowledge and gain practical experience in international trade, business relations, and American business culture.

As a scholarship recipient, you will actively participate for one year in the Chamber's operations and focus areas, such as finance, events, management, marketing, communication, membership recruitment and other business promotion activities. You will contribute to networking initiatives, establishment and acceleration programs, and seminars, particularly through the Chamber's numerous annual events.

You will also help drive the Chamber's sub-organization, Young Professionals (YP), and actively engage with the School of Business alumni activities in NYC. More information about the Chamber's operations is available at https://www.saccny.org/.

What we offer

Applicants should be proactive, solution-oriented, socially skilled, and able to work independently. At the start of the internship, you must have completed at least two years of a bachelor's program in economics or have recently graduated from the program. As a scholarship recipient, you must possess strong skills in both English and Swedish, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. The scholarship amount is SEK 300,000, with the program starting in June 2025 for a twelve-month internship at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York. The application deadline for the 2025/26 internship is January 15, 2025.
