Dear SACCNY Members and Friends,
In June, our survey with PwC US confirmed something we were already seeing: Swedish companies are not stepping back from the U.S. market. They are doubling down.
And we continue to see that commitment firsthand. This quarter, we have been working closely with Swedish companies coming to the U.S., helping them navigate the market and find the right opportunities. Whether through targeted introductions, market insight, or tailored support, we focus on what each company needs to make progress here.
In August, we brought our Executive Insight Series to Stockholm for a conversation between Ebba Blitz, CEO of Ensure Endpoint, and Charles Myers, Chairman and Founder of Signum Global Advisors. They discussed tariffs, industrial policy, and geopolitics, and the conversation was refreshingly honest. One comment from the audience stayed with me: “We rarely hear anything like this in Sweden.”
That is exactly where I believe SACCNY has a unique role to play. We can bring the realities of the U.S. market into the room and have open, honest conversations about what is happening and what it means for Swedish business.
Charles’ message was clear. Economic nationalism is here to stay, and companies doing business in the U.S. need to think beyond the next policy cycle. For Swedish companies committed to this market, that means taking a long-term view and understanding the environment they are operating in.
Our Board also came together in Stockholm at SEB to discuss SACCNY’s priorities for the year ahead. It was a valuable opportunity to take stock and discuss how we can continue to deliver real value to our members.
In September, the focus returned to New York.
During Climate Week NYC, we welcomed the latest cohort of our Skyline acceleration program, organized together with our long-standing partners at the Swedish Energy Agency and Build Edison. Now in its fourth year, Skyline has grown into a highly valuable platform for Swedish companies looking to build and grow their presence in the U.S.
One of the most rewarding parts of Skyline is seeing companies from previous cohorts come back to share their U.S. success and help the new cohort navigate the market.
And the demand continues to grow. We are receiving a remarkable number of inquiries from Swedish companies looking to enter or expand in the U.S. It is a clear sign of how important the U.S. market continues to be for Swedish companies and their long-term growth.
Thank you for being part of the SACCNY community and for helping us strengthen the ties between Sweden and the United States.
We are excited about what lies ahead.
Warmly,
Barbara Wennerholm
President of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, New York

Executive Insight Series: The Nordic Blueprint
Nasdaq operates the Stockholm stock exchange, and its CEO has a clear view of what Swedish companies bring to global markets. On October 6, the Executive Insight Series returns to the Swedish Residence with Adena Friedman, Chair and CEO of Nasdaq, in conversation with Börje Ekholm, former President and CEO of Ericsson and a member of the SACCNY Board.
Friedman has led Nasdaq since 2017 and has built it into a technology company as much as an exchange. Ekholm spent nearly a decade at the helm of Ericsson and, before that, ran Investor AB, and brings an unparalleled perspective on Sweden’s corporate and capital markets. Together they will talk about Sweden’s place in Nasdaq’s strategy and what’s next for listings, capital and market infrastructure.
The Leadership Lab is back.
After a full room last year, Carina Winberg returns to New York and SACCNY to lead another afternoon on personal values and how they shape the way we lead. Through the lens of how the brain, values and action connect, participants look at a simple question: are you leading from conviction, or from expectation?
The workshop is open to leaders at every level, and a light lunch is provided.

Executive Insight Series: Inside Washington
SACCNY took the Executive Insight Series across the Atlantic this time.
In a refreshingly candid conversation, Ebba Blitz, CEO of Ensure Endpoint spoke with Charles Myers, Chairman and Founder of Signum Global Advisors, on where U.S. policy is heading and what it means for Swedish business.
Tariffs and industrial policy set the tone early. Myers walked through how far the current administration has moved from the free-trade consensus that shaped U.S. policy for decades, and what that means for Swedish companies with a stake in the American market. The talk widened from there: America's posture toward its allies, where the transatlantic relationship is under strain, and how Swedish business leaders should read what's coming out of Washington right now.
As Myers put it: "Economic nationalism is here to stay. Even if a Democrat wins in 2028, I expect most of these policies to remain, while efforts will be made to rebuild and strengthen America's ties with its allies around the world."
Greenland came up as a case study in where strategic interest and alliance politics collide, along with U.S. energy security and where Myers sees the economy heading next.
A sincere thank you to Charles Myers for his sharp analysis and honest perspective, and to Ebba Blitz for expertly moderating the conversation.
SACCNY Board of Directors Meeting no.933
Our Board of Directors met in Stockholm on August 19, with a packed agenda and a full room at SEB’s offices. The discussion generated plenty of ideas on how to keep SACCNY sharp, relevant and ahead.
A sincere thank you to SEB for hosting us, and to our Board for bringing so much time, energy and thoughtful discussion to the room.
Celebratory Dinner at La Tour
That same evening, the Board and a handful of friends moved from boardroom to rooftop for dinner at La Tour. 23 floors above Stockholm with breathtaking views, exquisite food and the best company.
A heartfelt thank you to SACCNY Board Member Pontus Frithiof for hosting us with such warmth and generosity.
And a big thank you to David Roll, whose contribution made the evening possible.
SACCNY is stronger because of people like you both.

SAS 80th Anniversary: Eight Decades Across the Atlantic
On September 18, SACCNY joined Gold member SAS at the Consulate General of Denmark in New York to mark 80 years since SAS's first flight to New York, the flight that opened a new chapter between Scandinavia and the United States.
Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS, addressed the room alongside other speakers, and the rooftop reception drew guests from Scandinavian and American business, culture, and policy.
In 1946, that route took 25 hours. What hasn't changed since is the pioneering spirit behind it.
Thank you to SAS for eight decades of connecting our two regions, and to everyone who joined us to celebrate.

AI Eats the Customer Journey: What Brands Can Do
NYORDA and SACCNY hosted an executive breakfast on how AI is changing digital discovery. As search, comparison, and purchase increasingly happen inside a single conversation with an AI assistant, the rules of digital visibility are shifting too.

Skyline 2026: From Stockholm to Climate Week NYC
Three months after the Stockholm kickoff, the Skyline cohort arrived in New York for Climate Week NYC, September 21–23. Blykalla, Zigrid, Linervent, Orbital Systems, Affectus, Wioniq, and ViaEuropa all came with solutions for buildings, the grid, and a cleaner energy system, and Climate Week put them in the same room as the biggest names in utilities, developers, investors, and policymakers they want to reach.
The week opened at Deloitte with leading experts and key industry stakeholders offering practical perspectives on what it takes to build and scale a business in the U.S. Tishman Speyer then took the cohort behind the scenes at Rockefeller Center to see how the complex manages its energy day to day. In the evening, Climate Connect at the Swedish Residence was an exclusive networking event featuring Anders Danielsson, CEO of Skanska Group, and Commissioner Uchenna Bright.
From there, the companies joined panels on industrial energy partnerships between Sweden and New York, and a discussion at the Swedish Residence on building a cleaner energy system. We are so grateful to the General Consulate, for their continued support to the Skyline Accelerator. The program closed at Nixon Peabody, where the cohort pitched to investors and potential partners, wrapping up a week full of connections, events, and lots of energy discussions.
In case you missed them, the cohort returns November 2–4 for a second delegation trip focused on deal development and site visits.
Thank you to Deloitte, Tishman Speyer, and Nixon Peabody for hosting, and to the Swedish Energy Agency and Build Edison.
